Hometown Letters
A white roadside mailbox stands open with a letter, a dirt lane curving toward a church steeple and houses.

How a letter gets to you

Five steps, all by people, from your town to your mailbox.

  1. Step 1

You tell us your town and what you like. Up to three picks, and a note if you want.

  2. Step 2

We match you with a writer who lives near you. They get your first name, your town, your picks and your note. Never your address.

  3. Step 3

Your writer sits down with a pen and writes your letter by hand.

  4. Step 4

Our mail desk addresses the envelope, adds a real stamp and our wax seal, and mails it.

  5. Step 5

You get an email the day it mails: Your letter from Margaret is in the mail. It shows up a few days later.

Want to answer? Mail it to Hometown Letters, P.O. Box 1842 and we'll pass it to your writer. They still won't see your address.
